fulham vs ARSENAL   1 comment

arsenal defile all odds as they scored three goals in turkey and look set to be in the champions league for the sixteenth consecutive season.
Maarten Stekelenburg
injured his shoulder at Sunderland so David Stockdale is set to start.
Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny is out
after his sending off but Nacho Monreal is back in the Gunners’
squad while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
(knee) has joined a lengthy injury list
lead by Thomas Vermaelen (back).
Arsene Wenger will be hoping to avoid
back-to-back defeat in opening league
matches for the first time since the
inaugural Premier League season 21
years ago. If arsenal fails to win or at least pick a draw then
Fulham can record successive
opening Premier League victories for
the first time.
Yohan Cabaye’s smooth passing and
movement would add numbers and
quality to midfield but it is yet to be seen if the gunners will be able to get him this transfer window.
A marquee signing up front would also
appease the fans – although actually
the side already has plenty of
potency with four players reaching
double figures last season. Olivier
Giroud with
19 goals from 49 games last term which is a decent
decent return has already grabbed two goals in an as many games this season. He scored twice in the
home game last season against
Fulham, who have never won at Arsenal.
Martin Jol has significantly added some quality
to his midfield with the signing of
Scott Parker from north london rival tottenham. The loaning of Darren
Bent is also a blessing for the london club. Fulham
certainly have enough quality to stay
up, although they will have to end
their miserable performances at home
where they lost their last four
games last season
But their opening game win at
Sunderland was encouraging. The home
side dominated possession and had 14
shots. The Cottagers won it with their
only real shot on target.
Theo Walcott in combination with Santi Cazorla and the explicit pass from thomas rosicky can exploit
the lack of pace of fulham. every London Derby Has Been Interesting And Suspense Filled And this will not be an exception with the game expected to be tight and tense but I think arsenal will nick this even if it will be by a lone goal.
Three of the last five meetings
between the two clubs have ended in
a draw.
Fulham have won just three of 24
Premier League matches against the
Gunners; all three of those wins have
come at Craven Cottage.
Arsenal have won on eight of their
12 trips to Craven Cottage since
Fulham were promoted to the Premier
