Arsenal would have been drawn against millwall

Metro

Manchester United and Chelsea are on course for an FA Cup showdown in what is potentially the pick of the sixth-round ties.

Holders Chelsea today walloped Brentford in their round-four replay to set up a trip to Middlesbrough.

And if Rafa Benitez’s men can overcome the Championship promotion hopefuls they could travel to Old Trafford if Sir Alex Ferguson’s Treble chasers get past Reading tomorrow night.

Today’s draw also guarantees there will be a Championship team in the semi-finals after Millwall and Arsenal’s conquerors Blackburn were paired together.

Premier League champions Manchester City, who thrashed Leeds 4-0 this afternoon, will entertain second-tier Barnsley at the Etihad Stadium.

If Everton can avoid a slip-up in their replay against League One Oldham they will host Wigan, who easily disposed of Huddersfield 4-1 today.

FA Cup sixth-round draw:

Oldham or Everton v Wigan

Manchester City v Barnsley

Manchester United or Reading v Middlesbrough…
