Arsenal welcome the saints to emirate stadium in a game that will speak a lot about the arrangement of the top four. The saints are currently ahead of the manchester clubs and will hope that good fortune come their way on saturday. A number of arsenal player are in celebration mode as France completed a sensational 3-0 win over Ukraine on Tuesday night at the Stade de France following their disappointing 2-0 defeat last week. This is good news for our manager who is also french and will like to right the wrong that occured against manchester united before the international break.

Arsenal silence a quarter of their critic last saturday as they beat second place Liverpool 2-0 at the emirate. Among the yet to be won over is the Match of the Day pundit and former Premier League winner
has rubbished claims that the
Gunners can win the league,
stating that they haven’t played
one of the ‘big 3’ yet.
Dortmund face Arsenal this week in
what will be the second of their two
Champions League group stage
encounters, having emerged
victorious at the Emirates Stadium a
fortnight ago.
Klopp’s side did not have it all their
own way in London, with Arsenal
enjoying plenty of the ball and
creating numerous chances. However,
Dortmund’s high-intensity and
strength in transitions won through,
earning a 2-1 victory.
Arsenal will go into the intimidating
Westfalen Stadion confident they can
regain control of their Champions
League group.
Arsene Wenger’s team looked to be
cruising towards qualification for the
knockout round going into the home
clash with Borussia Dortmund.
Dortmund are in terrific form coming
in to this game on a back of a 6-1
drubbing of Stuttgart in the German
Bundesliga and Jurgen Klopp will look
to make the home advantage count
against a solid Arsenal side.
Arsenal have been a bit unpredictable
in their last couple games but will go
into this game with renewed
confidence after beating a strong
Liverpool side 2-0 in the League on
the back of defeats to Chelsea and
Dortmund at home in Cup competitions.
The lack of options in various areas
of the pitch for Arsene Wenger though
will be a huge concern for the
Gunners’ management going into this
midweek game.

THE GREATEST ARSENAL MANAGER SPEAKS

Dear Arsenal supporter,
Everybody was talking about Jack
Wilshere’s goal after Saturday’s
game against Norwich City and it
was certainly one of the best goals
I’ve ever seen.
I especially enjoyed it because it
was a team goal. It had combinations
and the speed which you always like
your team to play with. There was a
mixture of technical quality, quick
thinking, quick reactions and
calmness in front of goal. It was a
great, improvised goal.
We won the game 4-1 but you can’t
say that it was completely
comfortable, even though Norwich’s
keeper was busy. They played well
and at 1-0 and then 2-1 they gave
us some difficult moments.
I was asked in my post-match press
conference whether this Arsenal
team reminds me of the team that
went unbeaten in 2003/04 and of
course it’s much too early to make
comparisons like that.
But I must say we have a good
attitude, we are hungry, and we
have a good solidarity level. We
certainly get that as well from the
fans, who have been right behind us.
We clearly have quality, but how far
we will go is down to how consistent
we can be, how much effort we put
into every single game and how
careful we are not to get into a
comfort zone. You have to avoid
that at the top level.
Self-belief is important and of
course it is strengthened by every
win. In recent years we have been
playing catch-up so it’s good to lead
from the front this season. But
there is a long way to go so let’s
just focus on developing as a team
and keeping our solidarity.
A quick word on Mathieu Flamini,
who went off on Saturday. He had
concussion, so on the advice of the
doctor I took him off because I did
not want to take any gamble. As a
result of the concussion, he cannot
play against Dortmund, but he
should be OK for Saturday.
Even without Mathieu we have
plenty of midfielders and, with
seven games in 23 days, we will
need everybody. I will juggle my
options and everybody will play.
Thanks for your support on
Saturday. Get behind the team again
for what should be a great game
against Dortmund later today.

arsenal vs norwich preview   Leave a comment

The international break is finally over as attention shifts to various domestic leagues as teams prepare to strengthen their positions on the league table.
In the Barclays premier league Arsenal who are on top of the league will be hosting Norwich city at the emirate.
Arsene wenger while addressing the audience at Arsenal AGM says our dream is to finally end the trophy drought which has endured for eight years.
Arsenal FC
Arsene Wenger could have Santi
Cazorla, Theo Walcott and Lukas
Podolski back in time to face norwich while Tomas
Rosicky withdrew from the Czech
Republic squad in midweek due to a
problem but will most likely be available. Mesut
Ozil was forced off in Germany’s game
against Sweden with a
knee injury and is a doubt but the injury is believed to be minor and not as to the extent of the level of fear.
Alex
Oxlade-Chamberlain, Bacary Sagna
and Abou Diaby look the likeliest to miss out
due to injuries.
The exciting young duo of Jack
Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey look set
to start in midfield with Frenchman
Mathieu Flamini doing the mopping up.
Tomas Rosicky could be handed a
start if Ozil does not recover in time
for the clash and it will be interesting
to see if Wenger decides to hand the
returning Cazorla, Walcott and
Podolski a start.
Olivier Giroud will be leading the line
with Carl Jenkinson continuing at
right-back in place of Bacary Sagna.

Norwich City FC
Anthony Pilkington was withdrawn
from the Republic of Ireland squad
due to knock but should be available
for Chris Hughton on Saturday. Elliott
Bennett is the only other injury
concern for the Canaries.
Chris Hughton fielded a five-man
midfield against Chelsea and a similar
tactic may be adopted against Chelsea
as well. The trio of Alexander Tettey,
Leroy Fer and Jonny Howson could
lineup in midfield with Robert
Snodgrass and Anthony Pilkington
providing the support from the wings
to the lone striker.
Ricky van Wolfswinkel has not found
the net in more than eight hours of
Premier League football and could be
dropped in favour of new signing Gary
Hooper in attack. Russell Martin,
Sebastian Bassong, Michael Turner
and Martin Olsson look set to start in
defence in front of John Ruddy.

Looking forward to a sweet home win

Arsenal were rewarded with an home tie with fellow londoners chelsea in the capital one cup as they sweat it out against west brom with the match decided by sport kick. Nicklas played his first game in an arsenal laying the assist for eisfield before hitting the post himself.
Wenger was more impressed with the performance of his youngsters and was happy and excited by the performance of his fit again captain
Arsenal have been in excellent form
on the road, but Swansea enter the
fixture on the back of three games
unbeaten in the Premier League.
Swans boss Michael Laudrup fielded a
weakened lineup against Birmingham
City during midweek, but the Dane is
likely to recall the majority of his
squad that were rested for the
Capital One Cup encounter.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is
expected to use the majority of the
team that recorded a 3-1 victory over
Stoke City last weekend.
However, the Frenchman is unlikely to
risk youngster Serge Gnabry for the
third time in the space of a week, with
Nacho Monreal potentially being
included in midfield.
Recent form
Swansea City: WDWWL
Arsenal: WWWWD
The swans have been a big challenge to the gunners in recent season with the games usually highly explosive producing quite a good performance.
I hope the pendulum of victory swing the gunners way.

Westham vs Arsenal- preview   Leave a comment

West ham will be expected to have as many men as possible behind the ball. This method is to frustrate the gunners attacking threat. Carzola, podolski, gervinho, oxlade chamberlain, ramsey and arteta will have to be in top form to break down a defence that have only chipped in five goals this season. Giroud has been playing well, linking up with play well and his shooting has been wonderful so far. Why has it been difficult for him to score we all ask.
I guess he has been highly unlucky so far, going by the champions league match against olympiakos, his shots were always deflected away from goal. One thing i am sure of it that whenever he get it right with luck on his side goals will come.
Gervinho seems to be on fire scoring freely this season. He has scored more goals this season than he did the entire of last season when the goals scoring responsibility was borne by robbin van persie. The current state of olivier has also been maximized by the ivory coast international who is believed to replace Drogba in front of goal. His dribbling has been superb, yet his eye for goal is getting better. He has found the net in our last three consecutive games, which is a home impetus heading to the upton park.
